As a woman in todays world it's more than common to feel overwhelmed with the long list of goals. The mouths to feed, the emotions to manage (apparently it's NOT our job to manage others emotions, I did not know this! 😜) We've been trained to care for others before ourselves. Now we're being told, put on your mask before others. You need to care for yourselves first! But without a manual, or society that actually supports this, it can feel like just another job on the to do list!
Another goal that we can't reach! Like so many wishes, on so many shooting stars throughout our lives, this goal of finding and caring for ourselves somehow eludes us. We still get triggered and act in ways we regret. We still receive behaviors we really don't want in our lives. And we still buy things we don't really need or want in a desperate attempt to feel all the joy and security consumerism promises.
The Star card offers new wisdom. TANGIBLE wisdom! Something we can actually do (or not do lol) to start to learn how to actually put our mask on first. Before we can practice self love, we need to figure out what we DO love! What do we love to do? To feel, to say, think and be? It takes time to re wire, and shed limiting believes.
Be kind to yourself, even when you don't know how, just try. Try to take a break and pour our your stress, so you can more easily see your own North Star.
What if instead of serving, and looking to the external stars for guidance and wisdom. What if we turned in? What if we spent our free time healing and tending to our old wounds, rather than constantly burning ourselves out trying to fix and please others?
What our kids REALLY want, is a safe, loving home where they're parents are whole and regulated, able to listen to their screams without getting triggered and wanting to scream themselves! Parents that are living their dreams, and fulfilling their life's work, so that they have someone to look up to, dare I say, a real live star in their own home!
A Star doesn't need to be famous, or even popular. You are ALREADY the brightest star in your sky, because you are you and you can't be anyone else. And whether you know it or not, we are all connected, and the brighter you shine, the brighter those around you shine.
But...I know...sometimes it's hard to shine bright. It's hard to find that star under all the clutter, the trauma, the limiting beliefs, the conditioning. I KNOW. Oh how I know how you feel.
I felt it so deeply I went on a 3 year - turned life long journey to heal and shine brighter and brighter.
And also we're not ALWAYS meant to shine bright. Which is why my Tarot Necklace features both the 'medicine' side of the card, and the shadow side. Sometimes we're going to be on our knees, pouring our unresolved trauma onto our kids by mistake, and they're going to learn some not so helpful habits from us.
And if we're lucky, they'll surprise us with their wisdom. And it will be our turn to learn from them. And if we've done the medicine side of the tarot, we'll receive grace and compassion from them, because that's what we've shown them. 💖
